Project: Auckland Museum Cenotaph

Custom creating luminaries intended to light a sacred monument and the surrounding stairs of one of the most frequented buildings in Auckland required some heavy duty engineering expertise. The stair luminaries were hand fabricated from Stainless Steel and Plexiglass to house the best IP68 exterior LED's from Vossloh-Schwabe and provide a dramatic result that creates a visual pathway toward the Museum entry. Centred in this pathway is the Cenotaph, a place for dawn ceremonies and individual quiet solitude, this structure required a warm soft light free from glare.
Inground uplights with custom Cast Bronze Trims ensure longevity and safety, two of the main project requirements given by the clients; Auckland City Council and Salmond Reed Architecture.
